Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3657, dated August 8, 2005, the Legislature did appropriate proceeds of the Series 2005 Public Building Corporation Leasehold Revenue Bonds for various capital improvement projects throughout the County; and,

WHEREAS, Ordinance 3656 included the appropriation of $4,000,000.00 for road projects within the City of Independence; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works now recommends that the County and the City of Independence enter into a Cooperative Agreement and Addendum to Cooperative Agreement, for the implementation of these projects, 39th Street (Noland to Lee's Summit), 39th Street (Noland to Crysler), 35th & Noland Road, Truman Road (M-291 to Swope), and R.D. Mize (Little Blue Parkway to Eureka); and,

WHEREAS, the County will be responsible for the administration, design, project management, construction management, and inspection of the improvement projects and will reimburse the City or make direct payments to the City contractors up to a maximum sum of $4,000,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, a total of $403,532.27 has already been expended from the total sum, with the approval of the City of Independence, for construction inspection by Archer Engineers and a Notice of Public Hearing; and,

WHEREAS, such agreement and addendum is in the best interests of the health welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,
