Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is in the process of designing the Longview Road Improvements, Phase I at Orchard Road to Hickman Mills Drive Project, No. 3088; and,

WHEREAS, in order to move forward with this project, it is necessary to acquire certain properties for road right of way; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to negotiations, William and Juanita Smith, the owners of the property located at 11500 Orchard Road, Kansas City, MO, have agreed to convey the necessary right of way and easements to Jackson County, MO, for an amount not to exceed $7,633.29; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends payment to the property owners in a one-time lump sum; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is directed to issue a check to William and Juanita Smith, in the amount of $7,633.29, in consideration for an easement and right of way conveyance, pursuant to the specific direction of the County Counselor.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
