Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17124, dated December 11, 2009, the Legislature did authorize the acceptance of $455,000.00 from the sale of right of way near the Sports Complex to the Missouri Department of Transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Corrections was required to reduce their 2010 General Fund budget by approximately $823,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, appropriating these funds to Corrections will allow the department to sufficiently staff and provide basic inmate services to the same population served in 2009; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the funds in the appropriate spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
