A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with Shared Human Assistance Resources, Inc., d/b/a SHARE, Inc., for its prostitution intervention program, to provide a local match to a private grant, in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, SHARE, Inc., sponsors a recovery program entirely staffed by survivors of prostitution who partner with prostituted women and girls to encourage them to make lifestyle changes to prevent crime and drug/alcohol abuse; and,
WHEREAS, SHARE, Inc., has received a private grant from the Ewing Kauffman Foundation in the amount of $15,000.00 for this prostitution intervention and prevention program; and,
WHEREAS, SHARE, Inc., has requested anti-drug sales tax matching funds in the amount of $15,000.00 for this program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends matching funding in the amount of $15,000.00; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement with SHARE, Inc.; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
