Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 01-2006 for the 85th & Troost Avenue Phase I Roadway Improvements Project, No. 2407; and,

WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon, bids from the following:

Radmacher Excavation $7,722,721.25
Pleasant Hill, MO

J.M. Fahey Construction Company $7,846,966.21
Grandview, MO

APAC - Kansas, Inc. $8,205,104.79
Kansas City, KS

and,


WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has recommended that award be made to Radmacher Brothers Excavation, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that a contract on Bid No. PW 01-2006 in the amount of $7,722,721.25 be awarded to Radmacher Brothers Excavation of Pleasant Hill, MO, as the lowest and best bidder, and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to adjust the contract line item quantities provided that, in doing so, there is no additional financial obligation to the County; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract.


Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
