Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County presently boards stray animals as a temporary solution at Wayside Waifs, located at 3901 Martha Truman Road in Grandview, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, through government cooperation in seeking a permanent, convenient and cost effective solution to the boarding of stray animals, the Kansas City Council, on August 31, 1995, approved Kansas City Ordinance No. 951097, authorizing the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services to enter into agreements with Jackson County, Blue Springs and Lee's Summit to board live animals and dispose of dead animals at their animal shelter, located at 4400 Raytown Road; and,
WHEREAS, boarding animals at the Kansas City shelter is in the best interests of the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Agreement for animal shelter services with the City of Kansas City; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
