WHEREAS, in 1925 Jackson County Public Health opened its doors, marking the beginning of a century of service as a vital and essential part of the Jackson County community; and,

WHEREAS, Jackson County Public Health has remained steadfast in its commitment to offer services, provide programs, and advocate for policies so that all people have a fair and just opportunity to be healthy; and,

WHEREAS, Jackson County Public Health provides foundational public health services such as clinical care, linkage to community health resources, communicable disease control, emergency preparedness and response, community engagement, policy development and support, data analytics and information, and effective communication; and,

WHEREAS, Jackson County Public Health has earned national accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board, becoming the eighth accredited local health department out of the 115 in the state of Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, this achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the Jackson County Public Health staff to serving Jackson County every day; and,

WHEREAS, this national accreditation status affirms that Jackson County Public Health meets the highest standards of public health practice, from providing quality programs and services to engaging with the community in meaningful ways; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature and Jackson County recognize the importance of a high-performing health department in preserving the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens; now, therefore,
