Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature recognizes the importance of providing meaningful employment opportunities, workforce development, mentorship, and artistic engagement for youth throughout Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, youth employment programs have been shown to improve educational outcomes, develop job readiness skills, reduce involvement in criminal activity, and strengthen community connections; and,

WHEREAS, community arts initiatives foster creativity, cultural expression, neighborhood pride, and positive engagement among young people while creating opportunities for public beautification and civic participation; and,

WHEREAS, the Mattie Rhodes Center has a longstanding history of serving youth and families throughout Jackson County through educational, employment, cultural, and community development programs; and,




WHEREAS, the Mattie Rhodes Center has proposed a Youth Employment and Community Arts Pilot Program designed to provide paid work experiences, workforce readiness training, mentorship opportunities, and community-based arts projects for youth residing within Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature finds that investing in youth employment and community arts programming serves a valid public purpose and advances the health, safety, welfare, and economic vitality of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized ...
