Body
WHEREAS, the Office of the Clerk of the County Legislature currently uses Granicus Encoding, Open Platform Suite and Meeting Efficiency Suite for legislative meetings but is requesting an upgrade to the Governance (Legislative) edition of Operations Cloud which leverages a blend of strategic capabilities, data insights and technology built for government to deliver an experience aimed at enhancing user engagement and boosting operational efficiency; and,
WHEREAS, the upgrade would include the closed captioning service moving to an
automated transcription service available in both English and Spanish with text, and also provide for a fully managed remote broadcast system for streaming video, with included annual software support and maintenance; and,
WHEREAS, the Clerk's Office has a need for these upgraded services to boost operational efficiency and Granicus of St. Paul, MN is the County's current vendor and can provide this upgrade at a cost for 2026, not to exceed $179,785.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Clerk of the County Legislature and Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend award of the contract to Granicus as a sole source for the reason that, as the software developer, only Granicus can provide these services; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing and Clerk recommend the award of a contract for this upgrade for use by the Office of the Clerk of the County Legislature to Granicus of St. Paul, MN, as a sole source purchase; n...
