Body
WHEREAS, Edward Francis Bales, born February 25, 1896, celebrates his 100th birthday on February 25, 1996; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Bales owns and manages a farm in Marshall, Missouri, which he personally farmed until the age of 90; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Bales remains active, continuing to cook his own meals; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Bales has two children, Gladys Sanders and Francis Bales; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Bales is a lifelong member of Marshall Christian Church; and,
WHEREAS, an open house is being held in his honor by his family on Sunday, February 25, at the Calvin West Community Room in John Knox Village; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Edward Francis Bales on the occasion of his 100th birthday.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
