A RESOLUTION congratulating the Lee's Summit West High School Girls Cross Country team upon winning their third consecutive State Championship.

Body
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West High School Girls Cross Country team is ranked 10th in the nation; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West High School Girls Cross Country team won their third consecutive state championship, outdistancing 2nd place Springfield Kickapoo 43 to 141; and,
WHEREAS, the 98-point margin of victory is the most for any classification in Missouri state history; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West Lady Titans became the first Class 4 team to win three championships in a row; and,
WHEREAS, the Lady Titan's were led by Coach Jesse Griffin, who said of his team, "I am proud of what these young ladies have done the two years I have been their coach and another state championship is the result of discipline, dedication and hard work; and,
WHEREAS, the Lady Titan's team members include Ashley Wolkomir, Emily Argotsinger, Crystal Lohr, Chelsey Phoebus, Alex Moase, Johanna Kleinsasser, and Liga Blyholder; and,
WHEREAS, Lady Titan team members Chelsey Phoebus, Alex Moase, Johanna Kleinsasser, and Liga Blyholder received All State honors; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Lee's Summit West High School Girls Cross Country Team on their prestigious showing and extends sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
