Body
WHEREAS, representatives of Jackson County, the City of Independence, and the Eastern Jackson County Betterment Council have formed a consortium for the purpose of implementing and operating programs authorized by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; and,
WHEREAS, as part of this program, the Full Employment Council (FEC) will receive grant funds for use in Eastern Jackson County to develop a job training program; and,
WHEREAS, the Eastern Jackson County Workforce Investment Board (EJAC WIB) will oversee the implementation of the job training programs developed under this grant and will oversee the federal funds that are allocated to the FEC for use in programs in our area, at no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Workforce Investment Board/Chief Local Elected Official Agreement and Consortium Agreement with the Full Employment Council sets forth the mutual understanding and obligations of each entity; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached agreement with the Full Employment Council and other entities.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
