Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office has been awarded a grant in the amount of $20,010.00 by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Highway Safety Division, for the grant period of October 1, 2006 to September 30, 2007; and,

WHEREAS, Jackson County ranks first in the State of Missouri in alcohol-related crashes and second in overall crashes; and,

WHEREAS, this grant will fund reimbursement of overtime used for enforcement targeted at high-risk and hazardous drivers; and,

WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant monies in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
