Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has been awarded a grant in the amount of $3,000.00 by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Traffic & Highway Safety Division in furtherance of the "Click It or Ticket" Enforcement Campaign for the period May 23, 2016, through June 5, 2016; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff recommends the use of funds for reimbursement of overtime used for the campaign, promoting the use of safety seats and safety belts throughout the County, pursuant to the attached contract with the University of Central Missouri - Missouri Safety Center; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2016 Grant Fund be and hereby is made:
