Body
WHEREAS, RSMo section 115.395(2), requires the Secretary of State to place candidates who file a declaration of candidacy for nomination to office in the primary election, on the first day of filing, on the election ballot in the order determined by a random drawing; and,
WHEREAS, section 115.395(2), also authorizes local election authorities to implement the same random drawing procedure to determine ballot order for candidates who file for local office on the first day of filing; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby directs the Clerk of the County Legislature to establish a system of candidate filing for County office whereunder the ballot order of candidates who file for office on the first day of filing is determined by random drawing, in the manner authorized by RSMo 115.395 (2).
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
