A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a License Agreement with the City of Independence in connection with the installation of a gate on City property adjacent to the Little Blue Trace.

Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation has recommended the installation of a gate on property owned by the City of Independence adjacent to the Little Blue Trace bicycle trail; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed gate would prevent traffic on Little Blue Parkway from driving onto the trail; and,
WHEREAS, the most favorable and safest location for the gate is on right-of-way owned by the City of Independence; and,
WHEREAS, the City will permit the installation of the gate on City property if the County executes the attached License Agreement; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of this Agreement is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached License Agreement with the City of Independence, Missouri.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
