Body
WHEREAS, the Neighborhoods USA Conference provides a unique venue that allows for networking and problem-solving among grassroots leaders and the public and private sectors; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, MO, will be the host of the 2006 Homecoming conference with the largest gathering of citizens dedicated to improving the quality of life in our country’s neighborhoods; and,
WHEREAS, as a Good Neighbor Sponsor the County will receive recognition during the conference and awards luncheon, and in the program booklet; and,
WHEREAS, said sponsorship is in the best interest of the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of Jackson County, Missouri; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature expresses its full support of the Neighborhoods USA 2006 Homecoming conference and hereby authorizes the Director of Finance and Purchasing to issue a check to the City of Kansas City, MO, in the amount of $2,000.00 for a Good Neighbor sponsorship of the May 24-27 2006, conference.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
