Body

WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, Jeanie Lauer was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, representing the 54th District in eastern Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, Jeanie campaigned for education, health, public safety, and jobs, with a goal to use common sense in decision-making; and,

WHEREAS, Jeanie has a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and a Master's in Business Administration from Central Michigan University; and,

WHEREAS, Jeanie is a member of the Citizens' Advisory Committee for the school board and the owner of The Management Edge, a mediation and strategic planning firm; and,

WHEREAS, Jeanie is a District 1 Blue Springs City Council member and was named Blue Springs Citizen of the Year and Outstanding Civic Leader in 2007; and,

WHEREAS, Jeanie has served as co-chair of the Blue Springs Tax-Increment Financing Commission, Renew the Blue Co-chair, and chair of Development Focus Group, is a graduate of Blue Spring's first Citizens' Police Academy, and serves on the Intergovernmental Relations Committee for the Missouri Municipal League; and,

WHEREAS, Jeanie has a 20-year old son Chris, a student at the Metropolitan Community Colleges; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Jeanie Lauer on her election to the Missouri House of Representatives for the 54th District, and wishes her much success in the future.
