Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature and Jean Maneke and The Maneke Law Group desire to enter into an Agreement that Jean Maneke serve as legal Advisor to the County Legislature; and,

WHEREAS, under this Agreement, Legal Advisor shall have the duty to render legal advice and issue opinions to the Legislature as requested by the Legislature; and,

WHEREAS, the Legal Advisor to the Legislature shall be paid a retainer in the sum of $4,000.00 commencing the date of the Agreement for services through the remainder of the 2005 calendar year; and,

WHEREAS, the Legal Advisor shall preform the duties and attend only those meetings requested by the Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Legislature; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chairman of the Legislature is authorized to execute an Agreement in a form to be approved by the County Counselor with Jean Maneke for the position of Legal Advisor pursuant to Section 290 of the County Code; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
