Body
WHEREAS, the City of Raytown has requested the County's assistance in funding its Gateway Project No. 1; and,

WHEREAS, this project is a streetscape and intersection improvement project that will be located at 63rd Street and Blue Ridge Cut-Off in Raytown; and,

WHEREAS, the project will serve as a gateway into Raytown and a key point in the progression of improvements extending from the County Club Plaza through the Brush Creek Corridor and into the Eastgate redevelopment at Raytown's border; and,

WHEREAS, Raytown has developed this project in coordination with the City of Kansas City and the Missouri Department of Transportation; and,

WHEREAS, Raytown has committed $250,000.00 in city general funds to this project and has already received funding from the state of Missouri in the approximate amount of $400,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, Raytown is actively seeking additional state and federal funding; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County that the county assist the City of Raytown in this valuable and worthwhile project; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to issue his check in the amount of $100,000.00 to the City of Raytown for its Gateway Project No. 1.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
