Body
WHEREAS, the City of Levasy has requested the County's technical and financial assistance in const ucting a levee to prevent or decrease flood damage such as occurred in 1993 and again in 1995; and,
WHEREAS, such a levee would serve to protect valuable farmland, as well as several of the County's roads; and,
WHEREAS, the construction of such a levee is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and saf ty of the citizens of the County; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Cooperative Agreement adequately sets out the rights and obligations of the arties with regard to this matter; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropria ion be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Special Road and Bridge Fund:

and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attach d Cooperative Agreement with the City of Levasy; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to ake all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
