Body
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City and the County requested the assistance of Bridging the Gap, Inc., to write and present on their mutual behalf a 1997 district grant application to the Mid- America Regional Council (MARC) Solid Waste Management District entitled "Solid and Hazardous Waste Reduction Purchasing Project" seeking funds of $50,000 together with matching cash funds of $7,500 from the City and $7,500 from the County; and,

WHEREAS, the MARC Solid Waste Management District approved the grant application and extended a Financial Assistance Agreement to the parties authorizing the expenditure of funds consistent with the grant application; and,

WHEREAS, the City and the County now desire to engage Bridging the Gap and Bridging the Gap has agreed to serve as the project coordinator and joint representative of the City and County in the coordination, implementation, reporting and accounting for the Financial Assistance Agreement; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement the understanding of the parties; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and Bridging the Gap, Inc; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.
