Body
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has awarded the Recovery Act: Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) to the Jackson County Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force in the amount of $339,974.74, which the Task Force will use to fund four full-time employees with fringe benefits and overtime expenses, and four leased vehicles to assist in the investigation of federal and/or state criminal charges related to drug-related crimes; and,

WHEREAS, the grant is awarded through the Missouri Department of Public Safety for the period of July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2010; and,

WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending accounts; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
