Body
WHEREAS, the La Mega celebration takes place on December 12, 2025, from 7:00 pm-1:00 am, celebrating the first commercial FM Spanish radio station in Kansas City owned by Ana Nubia and her husband, Yvan Duin; and
WHEREAS, the celebration will be at the Sunflower Events Hall; and,
WHEREAS, La Mega KC loves to get involved, and help the community and help businesses grow by advertising to the Hispanic community in KC; and,
WHEREAS, recently, they have stepped up to increase weather coverage in Spanish, after the National Weather Service translations were paused, ensuring the Hispanic community of Kansas City remains informed and safe, after being on air for nearly five years; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature celebrates La Mega KC and their impact on the Spanish community.

Effective Date: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
