Body
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit High School boys soccer team, the Tigers, won the Missouri Class 4 State Soccer Championship on November 15, 2014, in the title match against Chaminade College Preparatory School located in St. Louis, MO; and,

WHEREAS, this is the first championship title for the Tigers, winning the match 5 - 4 in a shootout after 110 minutes of scoreless play; and,

WHEREAS, ironically, the game was won on the penalty kick by Lee's Summit senior and goalkeeper, Roman Pena, who not only blocked Chaminade's fifth and final shot, but then kicked the game winner for the Tigers; and,

WHEREAS, the Tigers are coached by Dave Wiebenga and is made up of team members Austin Hardy, Miguel Sarratud, B.J. Gaunt, Tim Huffine, Dalton Souder, Luke Gutierrez, Tyler Walker, Blake Lines, Chad Hawkins, Aaron LaPaz, Parker Gates, Jake Pycior, Max Jennings, Ryan Hardy, Jairo LaPaz, Michael Gordon, Ryan Taylor, and Roman Pena; and,

WHEREAS, the parents and classmates of the Lee's Summit High School boys' soccer players are proud of the team's outstanding showing in the championship game and 2014 season; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Lee's Summit boys' soccer team for its dedication and hard work throughout the season and for its notable achievement as champion in a hard-fought battle to capture the 2014 Missouri High School state championship title.
