Body
WHEREAS, the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce's Drugs Don't Work program assists businesses, ranging in size from 20 to 1,000 employees, in implementing a drug-free workplace; and,
WHEREAS, Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce has requested $30,000.00 to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be used as the local match to private funds in the amount of $24,000 for the Drugs Don't Work program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce for the Drugs Don't Work program; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
