Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 13835, dated October 1, 2001, a contract was awarded to Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife) on Bid No. 91-01 for the furnishing of employee group life insurance for use countywide for a three-year period beginning January 2002; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 15193, dated October 12, 2004, an additional two-year period of coverage by MetLife, at then current rates, was authorized; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources recommends that an extension be awarded to MetLife for an additional one-year period as provided in the terms and conditions of Bid No. 91-01 with no rate increase; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the contract with MetLife be extended for an additional one-year period as provided in the terms and conditions of Bid No. 91-01, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
