Body
WHEREAS, the County owns a parcel of property totaling 1.70 +/- acres, a right-of-way in Unincorporated Jackson County located near the intersection of Bucker Tarsney and Colbern Roads; and,
WHEREAS, the property was purchased in 1999 as potential right-of-way for the intersection realignment of Buckner Tarsney and Colbern Roads; and,
WHEREAS, it has since been determined by the Jackson County Public Works Department that this parcel of land is not necessary for the present or future build out of County access or roadways; and,
WHEREAS, due to the land being considered County right-of-way, it does not have a specific parcel indicating number; and,
WHEREAS, the Administration can identify no current or future use for the property; and,
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that the Legislature declare this real property surplus to the County's needs and authorizes the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing to solicit bids to sell the surplus property for the maximum benefit to Jackson County residents, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 11 of the Jackson County Code 1984; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the parcel detailed above be and hereby is declared surplus and that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to solicit bids for the selling of the surplus parcel pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 11, Jackson County Code, 1984.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
