AN ORDINANCE transferring $1,055.00 within the 2003 Special Road and Bridge Fund and appropriating $10,553.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2003 Grant Fund to cover the Sheriff's Office's Local Law Enforcement Block Grant received from the U.S. Department of Justice, and the transfer of matching funds.

Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County Sheriff's Department, has received a grant award from the U.S. Department of Justice, in the amount of $9,498.00, for the purchase of equipment; and,
WHEREAS, this grant is subject to a local match in the amount of $1,055.00; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer and appropriation; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2003 Special Road and Bridge Fund and appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2003 Grant Fund be and hereby are made:
