Body
WHEREAS, in connection with the Jackson County Detention Center expansion, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW-2345 (Bid Package No. 4) for the construction of hollow metal doors and frames, finish and detention hardware; and,

WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon bids from the following:

The G-S Company $416,994.00
of Baltimore, MD

D. H. Pace Construction Services $439,250.00
of North Kansas City, MO

BDC, Inc. $471,879.00
of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO

and,


WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to The G-S Company of Baltimore, Maryland, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,

WHEREAS, in the event that change orders to the contract become necessary, due to the time constraints involved in completion of this phase of work, it is appropriate that the County Executive be given authority to approve additional expenditures under this contract not to exceed $21,000.00, which is approximately 5% of the contract amount; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishm...
