Body
WHEREAS, it was with great sorrow that family and friends learned of the death of Erma E. Link; and,

WHEREAS, Erma was born on February 15, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Henry J. and Ida Mae Locks; and,

WHEREAS, Erma received her early education in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District, and later furthered her education at Southern University in Scotlandville, Louisiana and Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri; and,

WHEREAS, Erma worked in various capacities throughout her career including case worker for the Jackson County Welfare Department, interviewer for the Institute of Community Studies, secretary of the Missouri House of Representatives, and supervisor in the Model Cities Program for the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and,

WHEREAS, Erma served as a member of the Queen of Sheba Chapter #19 Order of the Eastern Star, National Association of Legal Secretaries, O.I.C. Inc., and Jamison Memorial Temple C.M.E. Sunshine Club; and,

WHEREAS, Erma was actively involved in politics and community affairs, serving on the Model Cities Area 2D planning board and also as a candidate for the 13th District State Legislative seat; and,

WHEREAS, Erma is survived by her son and his wife, Robert L. Perkins (supervisor of Delinquent Business Tax in the Jackson County Collections Department) and Jacqueline M. Perkins, brother Alan B. Locks, grandchildren Kaarin D. Perkins, Eldridge L. Perkins, Kharma M. Perkins, Na'Ima T. Perkins, Sharon R. Stafford, and Harlan V. Austin, and five great-grandchildren; and,

WHEREAS, Erma will be greatly missed by her family and friends; now therefore,
