Body
WHEREAS, Tara Miller, a 2001 graduate of Grain Valley High School was named one of The Kansas City Star's Scholar-Athletes of the Year for 2001; and,
WHEREAS, Tara ranked 2nd in her class, maintained a 11.01 GPA on a 11.0 scale, and had six varsity letters, three in volleyball, two in track, and one in softball; and,
WHEREAS, she was the team captain in her senior year in volleyball and sophomore year in track, and helped break the school record in the 400-meter relay in her sophomore year; and,
WHEREAS, she was a three-year class president, President of the National Honor Society, participated in choir, and served as a DARE role model; and,
WHEREAS, Tara is the daughter of Donna and Larry Miller of Grain Valley; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Tara Miller upon being named one of The Kansas City Star's Scholar-Athletes of the Year for 2001.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
