Body
WHEREAS, by Resolutions 15795 and 15796, both dated February 21, 2006, the Legislature did award two-year contracts for the furnishing of anti-drug prevention services to certain outside agencies, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $1,880,878.00; and,

WHEREAS, the agreements authorized by Resolutions 15795 and 15796 provided that funding for the 2007 calendar year was subject to appropriation and re-authorization by the Legislature; and,

WHEREAS, with the adoption of Resolution 16210, dated March 12, 2007, by which the County allocated funds for the extension of prevention contracts in 2007, the Legislature determined that there were insufficient funds available to fund programs of the prevention agencies listed in Attachment A for the entire 2007 year; and,

WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission has recommended the extension of the agreements with the agencies listed in Attachment A, for the period of January 1, 2007 through March 31, 2007 only; and,

WHEREAS, the execution of addenda extending the services of these agencies, in the amounts indicated, is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to place the necessary funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
