INTRODUCED BY Dixie M. Flynn, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, the County did, by Resolution 11503, dated November 12, 1996, enter into a contract with George T. Shaw Construction Company, in the actual amount of $805,503.00, for the construction of the foundation and underground electrical/plumbing systems for the expansion at the Jackson County Detention Center; and,

WHEREAS, a subsequent change order has adjusted the contract amount to the current authorization of $841,795.00; and,

WHEREAS, of the amount originally authorized by Resolution 11503, $1,708.00 remains unspent; and,

WHEREAS, the proposed Change Order No. 2, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is necessary due to miscellaneous contract changes and additions, and said change order will result in an increase not to exceed $17,787.58; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Change Order No. 2 to the aforesaid contract is approved and the Director of Purchasing is authorized to execute the change order on behalf of the County; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
