Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2609, dated November 25, 1996, the County Legislature authorized the imposition of a retail sales tax of one-eighth (1/8) of one cent in Jackson County for the restoration of Union Station and the construction of a science museum at Union Station; and,
WHEREAS, collection of this tax began on April 1, 1997; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the Bi-State Tax Fund is necessary to cover the distribution of this tax collected by Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Bi-State Tax Fund:
