AN ORDINANCE appropriating $150,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 Grant Fund to cover the Mental Health Court grant received from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with Truman Medical Center Behavioral Health Network, to implement this grant program at a cost to the County not to exceed $150,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a grant in the amount of 150,000.00 by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs for its Mental Health Court program; and,
WHEREAS, this grant will create one-full time and one part-time position to provide specialized case management for the Mental Health Court in Kansas City, through a contract with Truman Medical Center Behavioral Health Network (TMC-BHN); and,
WHEREAS, this contract will extend for 24 months commencing January 1, 2004, and will pay TMC-BHN $150,000.00 in equal monthly payments, to be matched by TMC-BHN with $143,413.00 in in-kind services; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made; and,
