Body
WHEREAS, Nancy Riley is retiring from the Jackson County Public Works Department after over twenty-seven years as a loyal and dedicated County employee; and,

WHEREAS, Nancy began her employment with the County on June 18, 1979, and has worked for nine Public Works Directors during her tenure; and,

WHEREAS, she was instrumental in the assigning of numbered addresses to all residences in unincorporated Jackson County in preparation for 911 inclusion in 1988 and received the Distinguished Administrative Service Award in 2003; and,

WHEREAS, Nancy has served on the annual County Executive Charity Golf Tournament committee and the Employee of the Month committee as well as supporting the Combined Charities and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer drives; and,

WHEREAS, in addition to her many contributions as an employee of Jackson County, Nancy has volunteered her time and talents to Hope House for fourteen years where she has made a difference in countless lives and was the 1994 recipient of the Hope House Volunteer of the Year Award; and,

WHEREAS, Nancy and John W. Riley recently celebrated their 10th anniversary after a memorable courtship which earned John the runner-up title in the "Most Romantic Man" contest; and,

WHEREAS, Nancy has two sons, Darrin and David, two daughters-in-law, Robin and Ricki, and a granddaughter, Delaney; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Nancy Riley for her more than twenty-seven years of service as a valued Jackson County employee and extends sincere best wishes for an enjoyable retiremen...
