AN ORDINANCE partially repealing Ordinance 3497, dated May 10, 2004, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation to partially sponsor the Global Legacy-NAITCP 2004 Summit at an actual cost to the County of $5,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3497, dated May 10, 2004, the Legislature did authorize a contract with the North American International Trade Corridor Partnership (NAITCP) in the amount of $5,000.00, to be used for sponsorship of the 2004 NAITCP Summit in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, the status of NAITCP as a Mexican corporation renders it impossible for NAITCP to comply with Executive Order 99-14 regarding payment of County funds to outside agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF), which is or can come into compliance with Executive Order 99-14, has agreed to serve as a conduit for the funds for this purpose under the same contract terms; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that that portion of Ordinance 3497 that authorized a contract with NAITCP be and hereby is repealed; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a contract with GKCCF for partial sponsorship of the 2004 NAITCP Summit in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
