AN ORDINANCE transferring $134,560.00 within and appropriating $382,470.00 from the fund balance of the 2011 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund in acceptance of the Drug Abatement Response Team (DART) grant for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office awarded by the Missouri Department of Public Safety, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Kansas City, MO, and the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners relating to the DART program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $91,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has been awarded a grant by the Missouri Department of Public Safety in the amount of $247,910.13 for its Drug Abatement Response Team (DART) program for partial funding of salaries and benefits for the employees of the DART Unit and for contractual services through the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners; and,
WHEREAS, the DART program is a cooperative effort of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the City of Kansas City, and Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners, to target and close down drug houses within the city; and,
WHEREAS, the grant is subject to a local match in the amount of $134,560.00; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation and transfer are necessary in order to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation and transfer; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within and appropriation from the fund balance of the 2011 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby are made:
