Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 18339, dated December 2, 2013, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Local Union No. 42 of the International Association of Fire Fighters to govern the terms and conditions of employment of members of its bargaining unit within the Prosecuting Attorney's Office through December 31, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, the parties have undertaken negotiations on a successor MOU, but have not yet reached agreement; and,
WHEREAS, previous resolutions adopted by the Legislature had extended the MOU through November 15, 2018; and,
WHEREAS, in view of the pending negotiations, and in anticipation of arriving at a successor MOU, the Prosecuting Attorney recommends and Legislature has determined that it is appropriate to reinstate the terms of the prior MOU, effective November 15, 2018, and extend it through February 28, 2019; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive and the Prosecuting Attorney be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Agreement to Extend MOU with Local Union No. 42 of the International Association of Fire Fighters, effective November 15, 2018, for a period ending February 28, 2019.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
