Body
WHEREAS, on July 10, 2007, Mayor Bob Beckers and the Board of Aldermen presented the prestigious title of Grandview Citizen of the Year for 2007 to Ron Hoffman for his untiring efforts for improving the quality of life in Grandview; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman and his wife, Jody, moved to Grandview in 1972, and they are the parents of three children, Amy, Erin, and Jonathan, who were all educated in the Grandview School District; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman was instrumental in the development of Center School District's Youth Friends program, and was employed as a district principal for Center Annex, South City View, and Red Bridge Elementary schools until his retirement in 1994; and,

WHEREAS, in 1996, Mr. Hoffman began substitute teaching at Grandview High School and earned recognition as the Grandview School District Substitute Teacher of the Year 2003-2004; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman served as a member of the Health Midwest Board of Directors, Vice President of the Friends of Truman Farm Home, Board of Aldermen from 1995 to 2000, and acted as city representative on the Jackson County Board of Equalization from 2001 to 2003; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman serves as a parishioner and member of the parish council for Coronation of Our Lady Church, and is a member of the Planning and Tax Increment Financing Commissions; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman played a major role envisioning a future for Grandview retail-based income, as a member of the Beyond 2000 Shopping and Retail subcommittee; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman continues to enhance Grandview's community by volunteering at the Hospice House and the Life Care Center of Grandview; now therefore,
