Body
WHEREAS, the County Legislature deems it necessary to improve public parks to serve its citizens as well as the traveling public at Fleming Park; and,

WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service provides grant funding under its Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program for work to be done to improve prairie and savanna ecosystems in park systems; and,

WHEREAS, such work would consist of a five-year plan at Fleming Park which would include the thinning of woody vegetation, burning, and fescue eradication on 95 acres; and,

WHEREAS, in order to be considered for a grant, a project proposal must be prepared and submitted to the U. S. Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached grant application, incorporated herein by reference, and any other documents necessary to effect the grant applied for.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
