Body
WHEREAS, Beverly Pendelton began employment with the Jackson County Family Court on September 10, 1974; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. Pendelton has provided supervision and case management services to hundreds of youth and their families throughout her tenure with the Family Court, including service as a youth worker, social worker, and supervisor at Hilltop, deputy juvenile officer, and PASS counselor/case management officer; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. Pendelton was instrumental in implementing a Truancy Court at Central High School, the first high school in Jackson County to have a Truancy Court; and,

WHEREAS, as the case management officer at Central Middle School, Ms. Pendelton organized community service activities for Truancy Court youth participation including the preparation of holiday food baskets for families in need and neighborhood clean-up projects; and,

WHEREAS, in addition to her model performance within the Family Court, Ms. Pendelton is a youth sponsor for the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Cotillion and a member of the Community Fellowship Church of Jesus Christ, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and Parents of Murdered Children; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature acknowledges Beverly Pendelton for her thirty-two years of service to the community and the Jackson County Family Court and extends sincere appreciation for dedication in making a difference in the lives of troubled youth and families in our community.
