Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney recommends the execution of a Professional Service Agreement with Cypress Research Associates of Kansas City, MO, to provide research services relating to COMBAT, at a cost to the County not to exceed of $28,300.00; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed services include research into the needs of the County area relating to substance abuse and other anti-social behaviors among youth and adults, which research will be useful to COMBAT staff in developing future strategies in informing the community about the needs of the County in the area of substance abuse treatment and prevention, and in meeting the requirement for a needs assessment for seeking federal, state, and private grant funds for COMBAT programs; and,
WHEREAS, the term of the proposed agreement is from December 1, 2005 through February 28, 2006; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, MO that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Cypress Research Associates of Kansas City, MO, at a cost to the County not to exceed $28,300.00 in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
