Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the proceeds and interest generated from this tax are deposited in a special Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund that is segregated and not commingled with the general fund or any other special funds of the County; and,

WHEREAS, Resolution 10825, dated July 28, 1995, authorized the Prosecuting Attorney to execute a contract out of anti-drug sales tax funds with the Women's Employment Network to provide additional job training placement and educational services to participants of the Prosecuting Attorney's Deferred Prosecution and Drug Court Programs, at no additional cost to the County; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney now recommends extending the contract through and including December 31, 1996, upon the terms and conditions of the First Addendum attached hereto; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached First Addendum to the Agreement with the Women's Employment Network; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be, and hereby is, authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the Agreement and the First Addendum thereto.
