Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract, with an option to extend for one additional period of twelve months, for the furnishing of fuel, diesel, leaded and unleaded gasoline, and kerosene for use by various County departments to Maher Oil Company, of Kansas City (Clay County), MO, under an existing government contract of the City of Kansas City, MO, Contract No. PA4390; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that, for any such purchase in excess of $25,000, the Director of Finance and Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has determined that, due to higher volume discounts offered to larger entities, award under the existing government contract is appropriate; and,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award with extension option under the existing government contract be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and is hereby authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
