Body
WHEREAS, Hope House, New House, and Rose Brooks domestic violence shelters ("Shelters) are not-for-profit organizations providing assistance to victims of domestic violence; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens
of Jackson County to provide assistance to the victims of domestic violence through funding of these shelters; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Jackson County Code 8700, the Jackson County Board of Domestic Violence Shelters ("Board") was established to administer the distribution of fees collected pursuant to state statutes and the Jackson County Code; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 15696, the Legislature did approve the Board's recommendation of an allocation of 90% of the projected 2006 budget revenues with the understanding that the remaining 10% be allocated after a second meeting; and,
WHEREAS, the Board held a second meeting in October 2006, and now recommends allocations of the remaining balance of $13,515.30 for distribution to the three eligible shelters; and,
WHEREAS, the Board recommends that the County Executive be authorized to execute three (3) addendums to the cooperative agreements ("Agreements") effective upon execution, for the amount of $4,505.10 each, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed a total of $13,515.30; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is authorized to execute the addendums to the cooperative agreements, in a form to be approved by the County Counsel...
