Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to lease vehicles for use by the Jackson County Drug Task Force; and,

WHEREAS, section 1040.1, Jackson County Code, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when the items to be acquired can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, the officer in charge of the Drug Task Force has advised that, due to the unique needs of the Task Force for confidentiality and other law enforcement requirements, Lifestyle Leasing is the sole provider of leased vehicles meeting the Task Force's needs in the Kansas City metropolitan area; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the lease of vehicles from Lifestyle Leasing of Kansas City (Clay County), MO, as a sole source provider of this service; and,

WHEREAS, section 1063.00, Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that for any such acquisition in excess of $25,000, the Director of Finance and Purchasing shall submit the acquisition to the Legislature for approval; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.
