Body
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West High School Girls Soccer Team, the Titans, won the Missouri High School state championship; and,
WHEREAS, the Titans are the first school in Missouri history to win a state soccer title as a first-year school; and,
WHEREAS, the soccer team is coached by Todd Krey along with his assistant coaches Mark Lutman, Jennifer Coleman, and Bobby Conard; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West Girls Soccer Team did not have a senior on the team, but was comprised of nineteen athletes being Abby Newman, Ashley Callahan, Amanda Spencer, Christina Dittman, Amanda Kersting, Sarah Williams, Jessica Luark, Andrea Barnard, Jacque Dedovesh, Nicole Berberich, Tara Limbach, Karley Kersting, Alexa Bondon, Jenn Mahan, Kendra Fritz, Alyssa Mullen, Kelsey Williamson, Michelle Sieg, and Kristie Carter; and,
WHEREAS, it is recorded that never did anyone attempt to separate themselves or their talents from their teammates, no matter who was asked, or how big the goal, the first thing out of any player's mouth was, "it was a team effort", giving credit to the person who passed the ball or to their coach, but never, never did any Titans' player begin an interview with 'I' because there is no 'I' in team; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Lee's Summit West Girls Soccer Team for their dedication and hard work throughout the season and for their magnificent triumph of winning the Missouri High School state championship title in 2005.
