Body
WHEREAS, healthcare security and safety employees play an essential role in the health profession; and,
WHEREAS, University Health Lakewood Medical Center is a county-owned facility; and,
WHEREAS, healthcare security and safety employees, especially those at Lakewood Medical Center, have a critical responsibility to uphold the highest levels of quality and service in their practice, ensuring the delivery of superior protection to healthcare facilities, personnel, patients, visitors, and the community; and,
WHEREAS, the professionalism, courage, and resilience of healthcare security and safety employees contribute greatly to meeting the evolving healthcare security needs of the Jackson County population; and,
WHEREAS, the demand for healthcare security and safety services continues to rise due to increased violence against healthcare professionals, the growth of criminal acts within healthcare settings, and the expanding aging population utilizing healthcare facilities; and,
WHEREAS, professional healthcare security and safety services are a vital component in ensuring both safety and quality of care within Lakewood Medical Center, and all health facilities; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby designates the week of October 13-17, 2025, as National Health Care Safety and Security Week in Jackson County, paying tribute to these essential professionals.
